Radiance Interiors - Architecture Photography Project Highlight
Bright and early, I arrive on-location meeting the marketing director and lead project architect from Iconica. We’re photographing Radiance Skin Therapy & Laser Center in Madison, WI. The space, formerly occupied by a restaurant, has been completely transformed through beautiful design and quality craftsmanship. The crew and I tour the space and build our shot list for what will get photographed. I see beautiful, bright walls, matte black accents, color gradients, an Andy Warhol selfie wall, captivating art, and countless other design elements that have all been brought together to create a welcoming, sophisticated space.
Jacknife Interiors Photography | A Behind-The-Scenes Look
Jacknife is a new sushi restaurant in Madison featuring delicious and quick rolls, bowls, and more. The interiors feature unique artwork, graphics, and bold colors to draw the eye to the many creative design elements used within the space. I was hired to photograph the interiors by one of my favorite clients, Iconica, who did the buildout of the space for the restaurant owners (who also own the restaurant RED). The results are a beautiful, open space with natural light and room for guests to enjoy good food and good conversation.

The Importance and Benefit of High-End Photo Retouching in Real Estate & Architecture Photography
Our attention is one of the most sought-after resources within marketing. Especially online, where folks are constantly inundated with content, ads, and personalities. It can be cumbersome and stressful to navigate those waters, particularly for someone looking to buy a home. They’re going to start online and work their way through a large amount of listings, narrowing down what they think they like most. In some cases, the listing pool will be very small and they may be looking deeper at just a few properties. In both of these situations, the buyer is judging and critiquing the actual home through two-dimensional imagery. We use photos and videos to help represent the character and essense of a three-dimensional space and try to build an emotional response with a viewer. This is where high-end photo retouching becomes highly valuable. Read more to find out why.
Behind the Scenes: Commercial Interiors Photo Retouching
A large part of creating beautiful and emotive architectural imagery comes through quality post-production techniques. Some of these involve layer blending, luminosity masking, color management and removing color casts, adding elements like models, and removing elements like hanging microphones that don’t speak to the architecture, construction, or interior design. A strong workflow and understanding of layer building are necessary for creating strong imagery. Watch these videos to see behind the lens of production and the retouching process.
