Behind the Scenes: Commercial Interiors Photo Retouching
Architectural Photography
A large part of creating beautiful and emotive architectural imagery comes through quality post-production techniques. Some of these involve layer blending, luminosity masking, color management and removing color casts, adding elements like models, and removing elements like hanging microphones that don’t speak to the architecture, construction, or interior design. A strong workflow and understanding of layer building are necessary for creating strong imagery. This will lead to a better understanding of what, and how, things need to be captured on production.
The imagery shared here was shot for CG Schmidt and Kahler Slater. This was a collaborative shoot where both clients helped to inform what to include in each shot and with composition, lighting, and model direction coming from myself as the photographer. The collaborative aspect of these productions makes shooting so fun and is so unique to each space.
Behind the scenes photo retouching
Below are a few behind-the-scenes videos showing some of the production in CG Schmidt’s office and the post-production and retouching process I used to put these images together.
